Dioramas of the Divine

Dioramas of the Divine is a series of imagined worlds, depicting iconic figures of Greek mythology and their dominions. The three landscapes afford the viewer the position and powers of the ancient gods Zeus and Poseidon, and the titan Atlas. Through these works, Dominic Harris pursues his long-held fascination with the power of narratives and connects his distinctly contemporary digital approach with the analogue foundation of Western civilisation. Presented as windows into intricate, awe-inspiring worlds that transform as they react to our presence and gestures, Harris places the viewer in a controlling vantage point, allowing us to indulge in omnipotent powers.

'What makes an artwork is not just what you see, but how you feel, how you respond. The viewer is more than just a viewer 鈥 they are a performer, a collaborator.'
